MOVE Grants is a dedicated grant-making mechanism designed to support mobility, exchange, and people-to-people cooperation across the region. The scheme is built on WBF’s belief that direct, in-person interactions whether through academic exchange, artistic collaboration, and/or professional mobility are vital to building trust, understanding, and shared values across the Western Balkans.
Each MOVE grantee commits to an agreed structured mobility activity with a formal host institution/organisation in another Contracting Party of the Western Balkans Fund. After the visit, they share their experience within their networks, on social media and through WBF’s platforms, becoming ambassadors for regional cooperation.
The programme funds short-term, individual mobility within the WB6: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo*, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Serbia. *This designation is without prejudice to positions on status and is in line with UNSCR 1244 and the ICJ Opinion on the Kosovo declaration of independence.
